Since 1984, the Kansas Masonic All-State Marching Band has been a staple of the Kansas East–West Shrine Bowl. This annual football all-star game raises funds and awareness for Shriners Hospitals for Children, celebrating tradition, talent, and service.
The Kansas Masonic All-State Marching Band Camp was developed to meet a specific need during the summer Kansas Shrine Bowl, when traditional high school band programs are not in session. Each year, 180 to 225 of Kansas’ best high school musicians are selected to perform in pre-game and halftime shows, at the Friday Night Event (which is free and open to the public), and in a downtown parade the following morning.
Founded in 1974, the Kansas Shrine Bowl is one of the most prestigious football all-star games in the nation. Held annually, the game raises funds and awareness for Shriners Hospitals for Children while showcasing outstanding Kansas student-athletes. Since its inception, the Kansas Shrine Bowl has raised more than $4 million in support of the Shriners Hospitals network.
The Shriners Hospitals for Children network includes 22 non-profit medical facilities across North America. Together, these hospitals have provided care and services to more than one million children in a family-centered environment, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. The organization specializes in treating pediatric orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate.
The 43rd Kansas Masonic All-State Marching Band and Color Guard Camp will be held June 23–27, 2026, at Emporia State University. The five-day camp brings together outstanding high school musicians from across Kansas for an immersive musical experience, culminating in a halftime performance at the 53rd Kansas Shrine Bowl on Saturday, June 27, at Welch Stadium. Applications are due April 3, 2026, and all applicants are encouraged to work with their local Masonic lodge to register.
