Kansas Masons Announce Support for Local Child Advocacy Services

Pittsburg, Kansas (July 7, 2026)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Marvin A. Armstrong Lodge No. 187 to donate $2,000 to Child Advocacy Center, Inc. The Pittsburg-based organization works to reduce trauma associated with abuse investigations while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children involved.

Founded in 1879, Marvin A. Armstrong Lodge No. 187 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has over 200 active members who support various community-focused organizations and causes. Some of its most recent areas of impact include activities at Frontenac High School, including the Chess Club, the Debate and Forensics Team, and the Thespian Society.

To further their mission of aiding vulnerable populations, the Brothers at Marvin A. Armstrong Lodge No. 187 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $2,000 to the Child Advocacy Center, Inc. The Center is the only non-profit in a seven-county area that coordinates the efforts of law enforcement, protective services, medical and mental health providers, and family advocates during investigations of child sexual abuse. They aim to provide children with a safe place to share their story in their own words with experts who will listen to them, protect them, and help them heal. 

In addition to providing support before, during, and following a child’s interview, they complete referrals for critical services, conduct forensic interviews, and provide community education and prevention resources. All funds donated by the lodge Brothers will be used to purchase supplies for the children they serve, such as backpacks and blankets, and upkeep and maintenance costs associated with their facility. A formal donation announcement previously took place on June 27, 2026.
