Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Sheriff’s Department Donation

LeRoy, Kansas (September 18, 2026)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Neosho Lodge No. 27 to donate $1,500 to the Coffey County Sheriff’s Office. This year, the organization is raising funds to benefit the Special Olympics of Kansas, and 20 percent of all funds raised will be donated to COF Training Services.

Founded in 1859, Neosho Lodge No. 27 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 47 active members and is heavily involved in the local community. Notable contributions include collaborating with the LeRoy Homecoming Committee, selling Kansas Masonic Foundation raffle tickets, and supporting the Masonic Essay Contest, High School Marching Band Camp, and various scholarship programs. The lodge also hosts two Southern Coffey County Scholarship Bake Sales each year to replenish their longstanding scholarship fund and regularly supports the local Honor Flight Program for Veterans.

“We are all pretty familiar with the great work that’s being done through the Special Olympics Kansas organization, allowing kids of all ages to participate in many sporting activities and teaching them many wonderful attributes that will benefit them for the rest of their lives,” said Neosho Lodge No. 27 Secretary Don Meats. “COF Training Services does much of the same, and they train individuals so that they can get placed in the workforce, live on their own, etc. Currently, the COF serves more than 200 clients, employs more than 150 adults, has 18 residential homes, and three day program sites.”

Furthering their mission of supporting local organizations and community members, the Brothers at Neosho Lodge No. 27 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $1,500 to the Coffey County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office is currently raising funds to benefit the Special Olympics of Kansas and COF Training Services. All funds donated by the lodge Brothers, in collaboration with the Kansas Masonic Foundation, will support various programs within the organization. A formal donation announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
