Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Kansas Masonic Lodge With Volunteer Fire Department Donation

Toronto, Kansas (November 4, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Woodson Lodge No. 121 to donate $1,000 to the Toronto Volunteer Fire Department. The Department provides fire protection and rescue services to Toronto and surrounding areas.

Woodson Lodge No. 121 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nearly 50 members and is heavily involved in the local community. Some of its most notable initiatives include supporting the Toronto Booster Club, the local Easter egg hunt, the Annual Toronto Days Hamburger Feed, and community hunter safety courses. The lodge Brothers also regularly assist local students attending the Masonic All-State High School Marching Band Camp.

“The mission of our lodge is to make good men better and contribute to making the community vibrant,” said Woodson Lodge No. 121 Secretary JJ Smith. “The Toronto Volunteer Fire Department could benefit from updated bunker gear and personal protective clothing, which is why we’ve decided to donate to the organization.”

This year, the Brothers at Woodson Lodge No. 121 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $1,000 to the Toronto Volunteer Fire Department. Current firefighters are in need of updated bunker gear and personal protective clothing, and all funds donated will go toward purchasing these necessities. With this help from the Kansas Masons, the Department will be able to continue providing fire protection and rescue services to Toronto and surrounding areas. A formal donation announcement will be made at the lodge’s next stated meeting, November 4, 2024.
