Westmoreland Lodge No. 257 Donates $1,000 to the Caring Community Foundation

Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Relief Fund Donation

Westmoreland, Kansas (May 17, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Westmoreland Lodge No. 257 to donate $1,000 to the Caring Community Foundation, an organization focused on connecting donors to needs they care about.

Founded in 1886, Westmoreland Lodge No. 257 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 27 members and is involved in various local causes, including supporting the Westmoreland Santa Claus Visit and Street Drawing, sponsoring Masonic Band Camp and Essay contestants, and providing complimentary beverages for entertainers during the Westy BBQ and its iterations. The lodge also helps widows and children in need in the local community whenever possible.

Continuing with the tradition of honoring their hometown and the local community, the Brothers at Westmoreland Lodge No. 257 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $1,000 to the Caring Community Foundation. Since 2015, the Caring Community Foundation has worked to connect donors to needs they care about in Pottawatomie, Marshall, Nemaha, and Jackson Counties in Kansas. This year, a special relief fund has been set up to assist residents who have suffered a significant personal loss from the recent tornado. All funds donated to the Caring Community Foundation will be provided to this relief fund and help assist applicants based on need. A formal donation announcement will take place in the coming weeks.
