Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Chamber of Commerce Donation

Chanute, Kansas (April 12, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Cedar Lodge No. 103 to donate $500 to the Chanute Area Chamber of Commerce and Office of Tourism. The organization assists the community during special events and helps local families and individuals when disaster strikes.

Founded in 1871, Cedar Lodge No. 103 is a Kansas Masonic Lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 82 members and supports various local charities and events, including hosting community-wide pancake breakfasts throughout the year (St. Patrick’s Day, 4th of July, the last weekend of September, and the first day of Quail Season). The Lodge also provides an Annual Soup Supper before the Christmas Parade each December and helps host an Earth Day event to educate local fourth-grade students about agriculture.

“The Cornerstone Apartment Complex in Chanute, Kansas, caught fire this past March, leaving two individuals dead and seven other families affected, as the building was a total loss,” said Cedar Lodge No. 103 Secretary Nicholas Harrison. “We are donating $500 as a lodge to help the families get back on their feet.”

Furthering their mission of helping the local community, the Brothers at Cedar Lodge No. 103 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $500 to the Chanute Area Chamber of Commerce and Office of Tourism. All funds donated will benefit families affected by the recent fire at the Cornerstone Apartment Complex. A formal donation announcement will take place in the coming weeks.
