Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Lodge With Community-Based Donations

Yates Center, Kansas (March 29, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Gilead Lodge No. 144 to donate $4,000 to the following community-based organizations: the Woodson County Chamber, Friends for Life, the 4-H Fair Premium Project, USD 366, the Youth Art Club, Revitalize YC, and the Woodson County Ministry.

Founded in 1873, Gilead Lodge No. 144 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nearly 70 members and supports various local causes, including the annual Trunk-or-Treat celebration, the high school After-Prom, various community 4-H clubs, the local cancer charity, the Christmas Adopt-a-Child program, and other events as they arise. This year, the Brothers are continuing to expand their philanthropy by contributing to numerous deserving organizations.

“Generally speaking, our mission and purpose is to help men improve, both within the lodge and in day-to-day life,” said Gilead Lodge No. 144 Past Master Marvin Chrisman. “We also utilize our platform to practice philanthropy in our community. Many of these organizations we are contributing to are organizations we have supported annually for a handful of years.”

To further their mission of assisting others in need, the Brothers at Gilead Lodge No. 144 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $4,000 to various community-based organizations in Yates Center. The funds donated will help with a variety of initiatives, from covering expenses associated with cancer treatment for local patients to providing meals for children at Vacation Bible School. Formal donation announcements have previously been made to their respective organizations.
