Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Kansas Masonic Lodge With Child Care Center Donation

Florence, Kansas (February 16, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Advance Lodge No. 114 to donate $5,000 to the Flint Hills Child Care Center, an organization providing child care to parents in Marion County.

Founded in 1872, Advance Lodge No. 114 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 43 members and supports various local organizations and causes, including providing college scholarships to local high school students, sponsoring an interview program for Center High School Juniors and Seniors, donating $1,500 to the local library, presenting the “Sunshine Girls” $1,000 to help repair the cemetery gazebo and the local Scout House, and helping with the local Chamber activities and the Florence Historical Society.

“Advance Lodge No. 114 is a sponsoring agent for the Flint Hills Child Care Center,” said Advance Lodge Secretary Les Allison. “We have helped develop one of the best new child care centers in the state, in addition to hiring a staff, providing needed employment, and offering quality child care in Marion and Chase counties where very little is currently available.”

To further their mission of supporting those in need, the Brothers at Advance Lodge No. 114 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $5,000 to the Flint Hills Child Care Center. The organization was established due to the cooperation of Advance Lodge, the Florence United Methodist Church, and the City of Florence, and is recognized as a not-for-profit corporation within the state of Kansas. Its purpose is to provide quality child care to families at an affordable price in an area where little child care is currently available. All funds donated will help cover start-up costs and operating expenses until the center reaches its capacity of children, which will bring in funding for continued operation. A formal donation announcement will take place on March 4, 2024.
