Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Ulysses Gun Club Donation

Ulysses, Kansas (February 2, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Ulysses Lodge No. 435 to donate $500 to the Ulysses Gun Club, a local school program that teaches gun safety to students.

Founded in 1923, Ulysses Lodge No. 435 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 21 members and is active in the local community, including assisting the Red Cross’ local blood drive, supporting the local food pantry, helping provide needed equipment for the local hospital, sponsoring students’ participation at band camp, and contributing to the Kansas Masonic Foundation Essay Contest. Each year, the lodge also hosts an annual Home Products Dinner in collaboration with the Home Products Dinner Committee and remains active in the local Chamber of Commerce.

We strive to maintain and improve our community,” said Ulysses Lodge No. 35 Secretary James Hickok. “The Ulysses Gun Club is a great asset to our community, as they sponsor programs teaching gun safety to local youth and adults.”

Furthering their mission of bettering the community, the Brothers at Ulysses Lodge No. 435 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $500 to the Ulysses Gun Club. The organization started a program that teaches gun safety to local students and sponsors a youth trap shoot. The trap shoot provides area youth with something to fill their time while also reducing gun violence through safety training. The funds donated will help fund the local school program, and a formal donation announcement will occur later this month.
