Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Intern Program Donation

Haysville, Kansas (January 26, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Haysville Lodge No. 112 to donate $280 to Project LIFE, an organization preparing students with disabilities for a self-determined future.

Founded in 1961, Haysville Lodge No. 112 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nearly 75 members and supports various community organizations and events, including providing a soup feed for Village Christmas, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, hosting a monthly breakfast, and serving hamburgers and hotdogs at the city’s “Meet Me at the Gazebo” event. The Brothers also make monthly financial contributions to the Haysville United Methodist Church Homeless Food Program to purchase necessary supplies, among assisting with other events in the community.

“Project LIFE allows students with disabilities to work with Haysville leaders and businesses to learn life skills,” said Haysville Lodge No. 112 Master Freddie Townsend. “The organization equips local businesses with two to three interns weekly at no cost to the business to help grow necessary skills to succeed in the business community.”

Furthering their mission of donating to local community programs, the Brothers at Haysville Lodge No. 112 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $280 to Project LIFE. The organization is a combined education and work experience program that gives high school students and young adult “interns” with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn and build skills leading to future employment and more independent adulthood. This year’s funds donated will help supply interns with various items necessary for their future, and a formal donation announcement will take place at the lodge’s upcoming meeting.
