Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Ministry Donation

Manhattan, Kansas (January 5, 2024)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Lafayette Lodge No. 16 to donate $3,480 to Saint Francis Ministries. This organization works to provide a safe, supportive environment for children who enter state custody.

Founded in 1859, Lafayette Lodge No. 16 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 129 members and supports various community organizations and events, including the Manhattan Fire Department Firepup Program, the Flint Hills Breadbasket, Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics, and the local horse rescue center. The lodge also hosts a Foster Kids Christmas Party annually.

“We have partnered with Saint Francis Ministries for eight years, providing a fun-filled reprieve for children in foster care and their families,” said Philip Rowe, Lafayette Lodge No. 16 Secretary. “Our goal is to show that Masons throughout Kansas are here to support them in any of their needs.”

Furthering their mission of helping the local community, the Brothers at Lafayette Lodge No. 16 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $3,480 to Saint Francis Ministries. Saint Francis Ministries serves children, families, and young adults with a variety of programs aimed at helping with adoption, foster care, family preservation, and more. Lafayette Lodge No. 16 first partnered with the organization when hosting its first Christmas party in 2015. Through the growth and success of this annual event, the Brothers have been asked to organize, participate, and support their first (annual) Spring Festival for foster kids in Kansas. The funds donated will continue to support the organization’s mission, and the Annual Christmas Party previously took place on December 2, 2023, at Reginal Hall.
