Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Masonic Lodge With 4-H Club Donation

Hugoton, Kansas (April 28, 2023)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Hugoton Lodge No. 406 to donate $900 to the Cloverleaf Cowboy 4-H Club, an organization teaching young people life lessons through cooking, sewing, financial management, public speaking, and self-confidence.

Founded in 1914, Hugoton Lodge No. 406 is the oldest active chartered fraternal organization in Stevens County and is dedicated to philanthropy within the community. This Kansas Masonic lodge has nearly 40 members that support various local causes, including donating over $12,000 to Project Hope and Helping Hands, providing over $59,000 in scholarships to local high school graduates, contributing $1,000 to the local Shop-With-A-Cop program, organizing free cancer screenings for over 700 individuals in Southwest Kansas, participating in the Kansas PRIDE Program, and helping with numerous other community events and fundraisers. Their lodge has also contributed to the local high school’s Project After Prom Committee regularly for the last decade, in addition to helping organize free hearing screenings in conjunction with Fort Hays State University.

“The Cloverleaf Cowboy 4-H Club helps teach young people business operations, the importance of raising animals, bookkeeping, showmanship, grooming, personal people skills, and much more,” said Hugoton Lodge No. 406 Senior Deacon David Eckert. “Our lodge understands the good things kids learn in 4-H and have decided to raise funds to help cover their summer camp expenses.”

Continuing with their support of community youth, the Brothers at Hugoton Lodge No. 406 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $900 to the Cloverleaf Cowboy 4-H Club. The funds donated will cover the participants’ 4-H summer camp expenses, and a formal donation announcement was previously made at the lodge’s established meeting on April 25, 2023.
