Kansas Masons Award Over $200,000 in Statewide Student Scholarships

Topeka, Kansas (April 13, 2023)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with its 180 statewide Masonic lodges and Kansas Masons to award 234 scholarships to students across the state, totaling over $200,000.

All scholarships awarded, ranging from $500 to $2,500 per student, are given to graduating high school seniors and students already attending four-year or two-year universities, including junior, vocational, and technical colleges throughout the state. Over the more than 50 years of its existence, the Kansas Masonic Foundation, in collaboration with the Grand Lodge of Kansas and its 180 statewide lodges and respective Masons, has provided millions of dollars of funding to deserving local students.

“It is with great pride that we, as Masons, are able to provide this type of financial support to our future leaders,” said Robert F. Nelson, President of the Kansas Masonic Foundation. “Our commitment to the scholarship program, and to the numerous other programs that benefit Kansans and Kansas communities through the Foundation and the Masonic Lodges throughout the state, is at the core of our beliefs that charity beyond ourselves strengthens our community.”

This year’s scholarships were awarded to Kansas residents based on financial needs and offered in three categories, including General Scholarships, Legacy Scholarships, and Cynthia Ruth Russell Scholarships.
