Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Historical Society Donation

Lyndon, Kansas (March 31, 2023)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Euclid Lodge No. 101 to donate $1,200 to the Osage County Historical Society, an organization housing a collection of artifacts donated primarily by former and present residents of Osage County.

Founded in 1871, Euclid Lodge No. 101 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has over 50 members and supports various local organizations, including the Widow’s Sons Chapter, local 4-H groups, Kansas PRIDE, the Help House in Lyndon, Kansas, and the Osage County Historical Society.

“In past years, we have helped the museum update its antiquated electrical systems and utility systems, in addition to providing volunteer manpower to help them with roof issues,” said Euclid Lodge No. 101 Secretary Paul Oldham. “We recognize a need to provide a historical depository of records and history of Osage County residents and events, which is why we have continued to donate to the Osage County Historical Society.”

Furthering their mission of supporting local organizations, the Brothers at Euclid Lodge No. 101 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $1,200 to the Osage County Historical Society. The organization represents the wide variety of historic, economic, cultural, and ethnic aspects of Osage County, Kansas, from early settlement in the 1850s onward, providing storage of archived county records as well as research concerning lineage issues. The Osage County Historical Society also routinely responds to family historical inquiries and has developed outreach programs for presentations throughout the county, its schools, and various organizations. The funds donated will help cover costs for developing new presentational materials. An official donation announcement will take place in the coming months.
