Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With High School After Prom Donation

Moran, Kansas (February 17, 2023)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Marmaton Lodge No. 245 to donate $500 to the Marmaton Valley High School After Prom celebration.

Founded in 1885, Marmaton Lodge No. 245 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nearly 80 members and supports various community organizations and events, including donating to the local 4-H and Forensics Clubs, volunteering for the annual Back to School Barbecue, and helping with the annual Community Day (Moran Day) activities. The lodge also regularly supports the local chapter of FFA through financial contributions.

“We feel that if we give assistance to our community, it is part of our reason for being,” said Marmaton Lodge No. 245 Secretary James Mueller. “We place an emphasis on the young people in our school as they are our future.”

Continuing with their support of the local community, the Brothers at Marmaton Lodge No. 245 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $500 to the Marmaton Valley High School After Prom. The annual event began many years ago after the school district tragically lost a student at an unsupervised party, and it provides supervised entertainment for students after Prom. The funds donated will provide refreshments, entertainment, and activities for the students, and an official donation announcement will take place in March of 2023.
