Waterville, Kansas (January 13, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Sutton Lodge No. 85 to donate $800 to Waterville Community Connections, an organization committed to assisting with community events and promoting local businesses.  

Founded in 1870, Sutton Lodge No. 85 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has over 30 members and is very active in the community, including supporting the local Chamber of Commerce, assisting with the annual Waterville fireworks display, and donating to the Blue Rapids food pantry. 

“Our lodge sees the importance of Waterville Community Connections, as it is funded strictly from donations and fundraisers,” said Sutton Lodge No. 85 Secretary Bryce Porter. “All the money their organization raises is reinvested in the city to better the community in which we live.”

Furthering their mission of donating to local community programs, the Brothers at Sutton Lodge No. 85 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to present $800 to Waterville Community Connections. This organization acts as the City of Waterville Chamber of Commerce, promoting local businesses and assisting with all community events. The organization recently purchased a sound system for the community center and installed new speakers downtown for visitors to enjoy music. Last year, Sutton Lodge No. 85 donated to the organization for the first time and is continuing to support Waterville Community Connections, as it was a great need for the small town. This year’s funds donated will be used to promote the City of Waterville and attract potential businesses and residents. A formal donation announcement will take place in the coming weeks.
