Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Masonic Lodge With Kansas Red Shield Center Donation

Atchison, Kansas (January 6, 2023)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Active Lodge No. 158 to donate $1,000 to the Atchison Kansas Red Shield Center (Salvation Army), an organization providing assistance to local individuals in need.

Founded in 1875, Active Lodge No. 158 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 65 members and supports numerous local causes, including providing free cancer checks to community members, sponsoring local high school marching band students, remaining involved with the Kansas Masonic Foundation Annual Essay Contest, offering scholarship awards, supporting the local police, selling tickets for the Annual Car Raffle, and contributing to the Humane Society. Additionally, the Brothers at Active Lodge No. 158 provide assistance to local families in need when possible.

“Our goal at Active Lodge No. 158 is to make good men better through educating on the Masonic principles, leading by example and being involved in helping the local community’s charitable groups and bringing awareness to local issues,” said Active Lodge No. 158 Assistant Secretary Michael Schaeffer.

To further their mission of supporting local charitable organizations, the Brothers at Active Lodge No. 158 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $1,000 to the Atchison Kansas Red Shield Center (Salvation Army). The Atchison Kansas Red Shield Center helps provide food, clothing, and utility assistance to local families in need. This year’s donation will directly assist a local family who recently lost their home and pets to a house fire. An official donation announcement will take place in the coming weeks.
