Madison, Kansas (December 16, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Madison Lodge No. 196 to donate $2,040 to Madison FFA, a local youth organization centered around promoting and supporting agricultural education.
Founded in 1881, Madison Lodge No. 196 is a Kansas Masonic Lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 29 Master Masons and supports various community organizations and events, including the local Jump Start Program, the community food bank, the Verdigris Valley Foundation, the local high school marching band, and the annual Kansas Masonic Essay Contest. The lodge also performs fundraising activities, such as selling raffle tickets for the Kansas Masonic Foundation’s Thunderbird Raffle.
“We encourage and support Freemasonry by self-improvement and brotherly fellowship,” said Madison Lodge No. 196 Secretary Joe Schindler. “We strive to be an asset to our community by fundraising and donating to local community programs.”
Furthering their mission of donating to local community programs, the Brothers at Madison Lodge No. 196 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $2,040 to the Madison FFA program. The Brothers at Madison Lodge No. 196 believe it is important to invest in the students and programs of Madison-Virgil USD 386 and appreciate the students’ hard work and fundraising efforts in the local FFA program. The funds donated in collaboration with the Kansas Masonic Foundation will help support Madison FFA members and their trip to the State and National Conventions. Additionally, proceeds will be used to support classroom education by purchasing the current curriculum and teaching materials. A formal donation announcement will take place at Madison High School on Friday, December 16, 2022.
