Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Kansas Masonic Lodge With Salvation Army Donation

Coffeyville, Kansas (December 9, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Keystone Lodge No. 102 to donate $2,000 to the Salvation Army. The organization helps build local programs to offer immediate relief, short-term care, and long-term growth in the areas that will best benefit the community.

Founded in 1871, Keystone Lodge No. 102 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 174 members and supports various local causes, including the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, the local police department, local animal shelters, the Boys & Girls Club, the Coffeyville High School Senior Class, and the Coffeyville College Girls Softball Team.

“Our lodge aims to establish a group of like-minded men who strive to be a good example of our belief that we are, to be honorable and morally responsible for our interactions with each other and mankind in general,” said Keystone Lodge No. 102 Secretary Billy King. “That we have a strong belief in our God and conduct ourselves in a manner that is worthy and sets a good example for others. That we seek good men, of good character, and that we support in making them generous and charitable in times of need.”

To further their mission of assisting others in need, the Brothers at Keystone Lodge No. 102 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $2,000 to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army assesses the specific needs of the local community to understand the challenges faced by a particular population to build local programs that offer immediate relief, short-term care, and long-term growth opportunities. The local Salvation Army relies heavily on contributions collected during the Christmas season, and due to the downturn in the economy and joblessness of the citizens of the city, they are desperately in need of funds. The funds donated by Keystone Lodge No. 102 in collaboration with the Kansas Masonic Foundation will help provide additional services to local residents and feed those in need this holiday season. A formal donation announcement will take place at the lodge’s upcoming meeting on December 19, 2022.
