Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Fur Ever Friends Donation

Ulysses, Kansas (October 20, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Ulysses Lodge No. 435 to donate $500 to Fur Ever Friends, an animal rescue group in Grant County, Kansas.

Founded in 1923, Ulysses Lodge No. 435 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 23 members and is active in the local community, including assisting the Red Cross’ local blood drive, supporting the local food pantry, helping provide needed equipment for the local hospital, sponsoring students’ participation at band camp, and contributing to the Kansas Masonic Foundation Essay Contest. Each year, the lodge also hosts an annual Home Products Dinner in collaboration with the Home Products Dinner Committee and sponsors their own scholarship program.

The mission of Ulysses Lodge No. 435 is to promote Masonry in a way that attracts new members, inspires existing members to be active and continue their Masonic education, brings value to the community, instills pride in the lodge, and creates interaction with the entire Masonic Family,” said Ulysses Lodge No. 35 Secretary James Hickok.

To help further this mission of bettering the local community, the Brothers at Ulysses Lodge No. 435 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $500 to Fur Ever Friends. The organization is a small rescue group dedicated to homeless and abandoned animals that provides public education about responsible pet ownership and available spay and neuter programs. The funds donated will help provide humane animal control in the city, and a formal donation announcement will take place later this month.
