Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Newton FIREPUP Donation
Newton, Kansas (August 05, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Newton Lodge No. 142 to donate $400 to the Newton EMS Firepup Program, an organization that conducts the annual fire safety program for local public and private schools.
Founded in 1873, Newton Lodge No. 142 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nearly 200 members and is committed to supporting activities and projects in the local community. Their most notable contributions include supporting the community food bank, the Salvation Army Thanksgiving and Christmas meals programs, and distributing food during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The Brothers also help with grocery delivery to elderly community members and support the local Fire Department’s fire prevention initiative.
“The Brothers at Newton Lodge No. 142 have supported the Newton EMS Firepup Program for years,” said Newton Lodge No. 142 Secretary Gary Dix. “We feel it helps to bring awareness to our children and others to hopefully keep everyone in our community safer.”
In an effort to better the community in which they live, Newton Lodge No. 142 continues to support the Newton EMS Firepup Program. This year, they have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $400 to the organization, which will be used to purchase fire safety materials from the National Fire Safety Council. A significant focus of the organization revolves around educating children about the dangers of fire and the importance of fire safety to help fire prevention efforts. A formal donation announcement will take place later this month.
