Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Kansas Masonic Lodge With Local Child Donation
Nortonville, Kansas (June 17, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Mayetta Lodge No. 393 to donate $1,600 to the family of a local child in need.
Founded in 1911, Mayetta Lodge No. 393 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 240 members and supports various community organizations and events, including supporting the Mayetta Pioneer Days, providing books and school supplies to children in need, and helping with the local high school After Prom activities. The lodge also allows the local American Legion and Eastern Star to utilize their building for meetings and activities.
“Mayetta Lodge No. 393 supports activities that help build the community and offer service to others,” said Mayetta Lodge No. 393 Secretary Terry Harbert.
To continue providing service to others, the Brothers at Mayetta Lodge No. 393 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $1,600 to a local family in need. The family has a three-year-old child with a serious E. coli infection that has required her to be hospitalized at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Due to the significant medical bills and the parent’s inability to work during this time, the lodge has banded together to raise money for travel, lodging, and hospital expenses while in Kansas City. A formal donation presentation will be made to the family in the coming weeks.
