Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Saint Francis Ministries Donation

Manhattan, Kansas (June 17, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Lafayette Lodge No. 16 to donate $600 to Saint Francis Ministries, an organization that works to provide a safe, supportive environment to children who enter state custody.

Founded in 1859, Lafayette Lodge No. 16 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 124 members and supports various community organizations and events, including the Annual Masonic Essay Contest, the Manhattan Fire Department Firepup Program, the Flint Hills Breadbasket, and Habitat for Humanity. The lodge also hosts a Foster Kids Christmas Party annually.

“Our mission is to raise the moral, social, intellectual, and spiritual conscience of society through service to God, family, country, and self under the Fatherhood of God within the Brotherhood of Man guided by the enduring and relevant tenets of our fraternity–Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth,” said Philip Rowe, Lafayette Lodge No. 16 Secretary.

Furthering their mission of helping the local community, the Brothers at Lafayette Lodge No. 16 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $600 to Saint Francis Ministries. Saint Francis Ministries serves children, families, and young adults with a variety of programs aimed at helping with adoption, foster care, family preservation, and more. Lafayette Lodge No. 16 first partnered with the organization when hosting its first Christmas party in 2015. Through the growth and success of this annual event, the Brothers have been asked to organize, participate, and support their first (annual) Spring Festival for foster kids in Kansas. The funds donated will continue to support the organization’s mission, and a formal donation presentation will take place in the coming weeks.
