Iola, Kansas (May 20, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Iola Lodge No. 38 to donate $250 to the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, and increasing prevention efforts.

Founded in 1863, Iola Lodge No. 38 is a Kansas Masonic Lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 86 members and supports various community organizations and events, including sponsoring the local cardboard recycling program, donating to the community food pantry, and contributing to the Iola Youth Recreation Department and Kansas PRIDE.  

“Our lodge is committed to doing good works within our community,” said Iola Lodge No. 38 Secretary Curtis Utley. “Many of our Brothers have been affected by cancer, and this contribution is another way to help support the fight against this terrible disease.” 

Continuing with their commitment to the local community, the Brothers at Iola Lodge No. 38 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $250 to the American Cancer Society. The organization conducts research, encourages prevention, and provides patient support to those who need it. The funds raised by this year’s Annual Relay for Life event in collaboration with matching funds from the Kansas Masonic Foundation will go toward research and prevention efforts. A formal donation announcement will take place in the coming months.
