Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Public Library Donation

Great Bend, Kansas (April 29, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Great Bend Lodge No. 15 to donate $100 to the Great Bend Public Library, an organization that fosters the spirit of exploration, lifelong learning, the joy of reading, and the pursuit of information and knowledge for all community members.

Founded in 1874, Great Bend Lodge No. 15 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 75 members and is very active in the community, including offering scholarships to Great Bend and Larned High School students, giving away funnel cakes at the Great Bend Holiday Festival, and delivering fruit baskets to Masonic widows and elderly Brothers during Christmas. The lodge also supports the SCRA Dragstrip in Barton County, Cans for Kids, the Golden Belt Food Bank, the Great Bend Zoo, and numerous youth shelters in the community.

“Our Brothers at Great Bend Lodge No. 15 strive to support the people and projects in our community,” said Great Bend Lodge No. 15 Secretary Greg King. “We are dedicated to helping people in our community and making a positive impact on the youth in Great Bend.”

Continuing with their local community support, the Brothers at Great Bend Lodge No. 15 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $100 to the Great Bend Public Library. The Great Bend Public Library offers different programs throughout the year, including the Summer Reading Program, which keeps kids involved with reading while school is not in session. For the past three years, Great Bend Lodge No. 15 has made financial contributions to help fund the Summer Reading Program and continues to support local youth programs through their efforts. No formal donation announcement will be made, but all donors will be recognized on social media and in the Great Bend Public Library Newsletter.
