Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Peaslee Tech Donation

Lawrence, Kansas (January 14, 2022)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Acacia Lodge No. 9 to donate $5,000 to Peaslee Tech, one of Kansas’ largest technical schools and providers of apprenticeships.

Founded in 1867, Acacia Lodge No. 9 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has more than 60 members and is heavily involved in community service, including donating to the Ballard Center to help provide quality and affordable early education and basic life assistance to families and individuals in need. The lodge also supports Jubilee Cafe, Just Food, the Lawrence Community Shelter, Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army, Peaslee Tech, and other local organizations. In 2021 alone, the Brothers at Acacia Lodge No. 9 donated $1,000 to 10 different organizations in Lawrence, totaling $10,000 overall.

“Like Freemasons in Freemasonry, we are symbolic “builders” in many different aspects, and as such, providing charitable funds to a local school that teaches many different fields of practical “builders” was a great opportunity for our lodge as many members are former tradesmen themselves,” said Acacia Lodge No. 9 Worshipful Master Dylan Warrington. “Additionally, education is important to Freemasonry, and local schools, including trade schools, often don’t get the same kind of funding other larger colleges and universities get. Providing funds to Peaslee Tech will help keep their tuition very low and sometimes free to certain students.”

This year, the Brothers at Acacia Lodge No. 9 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $5,000 to Peaslee Tech in Lawrence, Kansas. Peaslee Tech is a Lawrence local post-secondary approved trade school that grows each year in attendance, course offerings, and site resources. The school offers several different fields of training, including auto repair, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, machining, plumbing, welding, and many more! College degrees aren’t for everyone and can become very expensive, which is why the Brothers at Acacia Lodge No. 9 have decided to help fund scholarship and tuition assistance for specific students. An official donation announcement will take place on January 22, 2022, at 9:00 AM at the Peaslee Tech location in Lawrence, Kansas.
