Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Domestic Violence Prevention

Salina, Kansas (December 13, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Salina Lodge No. 60 to donate $1,000 to the Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVACK), an organization that supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, teen dating violence, elder abuse, and human trafficking.

Founded in 1869, Salina Lodge No. 60 is a Kansas Masonic Lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nearly 150 members and supports various local organizations and events, including hosting an annual luncheon for first responders within the community and supporting the local sheriff department’s child bullying prevention program. The lodge has also donated to the Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVACK), Child Advocacy and Parenting Services (CAPS) of Salina, the Salina Senior Center, the Salina Food Bank, and the Grand Ave Church Homeless Program.

“Our Brothers define doing good charitable work by helping those within our community,” said Salina Lodge No. 60 Secretary Byron Erickson. “We joined to become part of something larger than ourselves and contribute on a much larger scale.”

To further their mission of helping those within the local community, the Brothers at Salina Lodge No. 60 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $1,000 to the Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVACK). The organization works to reduce incidents of domestic violence and sexual offenses while also providing comfort and support to victims through crisis intervention and support services in North-Central Kansas. Working from a victim-centered, trauma-informed approach, DVACK offers immediate and ongoing direct support services to primary and secondary survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, teen dating violence, elder abuse, and human trafficking. The funds donated by Salina Lodge No. 60 in collaboration with the Kansas Masonic Foundation will be placed in a general account to support various organizational programs. A formal donation announcement previously took place at the DVACK office on December 2, 2021.
