Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Creative Movements Donation
Atwood, Kansas (December 13, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Atwood Lodge No. 164 to donate $1,000 to Creative Movements Gymnastics, a nonprofit organization offering recreational gymnastics classes to children in Rawlins County.
Founded in 1895, Atwood Lodge No. 164 is a Kansas Masonic Lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 53 active members and supports various community organizations and events, including Rawlins County Schools, the local community theater, Atwood City Library, the Atwood Awana Program, the Rawlins County Health Center, Rod Run Fireworks, and the local youth center. The Brothers at Atwood Lodge No. 164 have also provided numerous college scholarships to local students and hosted fundraisers to benefit the local fire department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
“Creative Moments Gymnastics has been providing recreational gymnastics classes to kids in Rawlins County for 25 years,” said Atwood Lodge No. 164 Secretary Dave Brown. “This year, the organization has approximately 75 gymnasts and 30 Taekwondo athletes, with families that travel as far as Palisade, Nebraska, to attend classes.”
This year, the Brothers at Atwood Lodge No. 164 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $1,000 to the organization to equip their facility with new air conditioning and added concrete. This year will mark the lodge’s first donation to Creative Movements Gymnastics, which comes after their rapid expansion in 2018 and 2019, to help further their offerings, which are a much-needed service for the local community so that families do not have to travel out of town. On December 16, 2021, a formal donation announcement will occur during the Creative Movement Gymnastics and Dance Open House at the lodge’s Masonic Temple. The event will begin at 5:30 PM and be accompanied by a silent auction, Christmas tree raffle, and gymnastics and Taekwondo skill showcase.
