Lawrence, Kansas (December 3, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Acacia Lodge No. 9 to donate $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, an organization with the mission of enabling all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Founded in 1867, Acacia Lodge No. 9 is a Kansas Masonic Lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has over 50 members and is heavily involved in local community service, and supports various organizations, including donating to the Ballard Center to help provide quality and affordable early education and basic life assistance to families and individuals in need. The lodge also supports Jubilee Cafe, Just Food, the Lawrence Community Shelter, Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army, Peaslee Tech, and other local organizations. This year, the Brothers at Acacia Lodge No. 9 are giving back by reinvesting $10,000 amongst 10 different community organizations, their largest philanthropic effort to date.
“Our lodge is a lodge of effort, adaptation, generosity, friendship, and growth,” said Acacia Lodge No. 9 Worshipful Master Dylan Warrington. “We are best known for our philanthropic work within the community, and we are actively working to better ourselves, our work, our lodge, and our community.”
To further their mission of growing their ritualistic work and community philanthropy, the Brothers at Acacia Lodge No. 9 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club in Lawrence, Kansas. The donation will help provide child care and after-school services to local children, help students complete their homework, provide food assistance and school supply assistance, and equip students with post-high school resources. The funds raised by the lodge, combined with matching funds from the Kansas Masonic Foundation, will be presented at the Center for Great Futures in the coming weeks.
