Social WelfareJustice Lodge No. 457 Donates $1,550 to Kansas Concerns of Police Survivors

Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Law Enforcement Donation

Emporia, Kansas (October 20, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Justice Lodge No. 457 to donate $1,550 to Kansas Concerns of Police Survivors (Kansas C.O.P.S), an organization assisting in the rebuilding of lives affected by fallen law enforcement officers.

Founded in 2011, Justice Lodge No. 457 is a Kansas Masonic Lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world, and primarily focuses on supporting statewide law enforcement programs and other member-interest activities. The lodge has 24 committed members and supports various community organizations, including previously supporting the Miami County Cancer Foundation with a $1,000 donation. In previous years, the Brothers at Justice Lodge No. 457 have worked closely with the Kansas C.O.P.S Chapter, making contributions greater than $1,500 for the past five years.

“We like to ensure that many people will be able to benefit from the support of our lodge,” said Justice Lodge No. 457 Secretary Daren Kellerman.

To further their mission of supporting the local community and law enforcement programs, the Brothers at Justice Lodge No. 457 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $1,550 to Kansas Concerns of Police Survivors (Kansas C.O.P.S). The Kansas Chapter of C.O.P.S. provides peer support to the surviving family members of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty by offering emotional support, aiding survivors in understanding the judicial process, and providing information about available services within the local community, the state, and the nation. Additionally, they offer longer-term support and friendship for those affected and prioritize the training of state law enforcement agencies in the appropriate handling of line-of-duty death procedures. The funds donated will help aid in these initiatives, and an official donation announcement will take place in December of this year.
