Nortonville, Kansas (September 28, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Mayetta Lodge No. 393 to donate $400 to Grow Nortonville, a group focused on improving the lives of residents in the town of Nortonville and Jefferson County.
Founded in 1911, Mayetta Lodge No. 393 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 250 members and supports various community organizations and events, including supporting the Mayetta Pioneer Days, providing books and school supplies to children in need, and helping with the local high school After Prom activities. The lodge also allows the local American Legion and Eastern Star to utilize their building for meetings and activities.
“Charitable work is that which benefits the communities and people who live there,” said Mayetta Lodge No. 393 Secretary Terry Harbert. “Grow Nortonville is a group focused on improving the lives of residents in the town of Nortonville, which is why our Brothers have decided to donate to their organization.”
To continue doing charitable work that benefits the local community, the Brothers at Mayetta Lodge No. 393 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $400 to Grow Nortonville. The organization is focused on improving the life of Nortonville residents, with their current project focusing on a new playground build for community children. The funds donated will help purchase new playground equipment, and a formal donation presentation will take place later this year.
