Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With High School FFA Donation
Moran, Kansas (September 8, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Marmaton Lodge No. 245 to donate $200 to the Marmaton Valley High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) program. The organization works to instill the importance of farm life and farm operations in today’s youth for the future of America.
Founded in 1885, Marmaton Lodge No. 245 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 82 members and supports various community organizations and events, including donating to the local 4-H and Forensics Clubs, volunteering for the annual Back to School Barbecue, and helping with the annual Community Day (Moran Day) activities. The lodge also regularly supports the local chapter of FFA through financial contributions.
“We feel that if we give assistance to our community, it is part of our reason for being,” said Marmaton Lodge No. 245 Secretary James Mueller. “We place an emphasis on the young people in our school as they are our future.”
This year, the Brothers at Marmaton Lodge No. 245 are continuing to give back to the local community by teaming up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $200 to the Marmaton Valley High School FFA chapter. The funds donated will be used to purchase t-shirts for new FFA members and help cement their feeling of belonging with the current members. A formal donation presentation will be made at the lodge’s next meeting on September 9, 2021.
