Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Alzheimer’s Association Donation
Douglass, Kansas (September 1, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Douglass Lodge No. 151 to donate $100 to the Central and Western Kansas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Alzheimer’s Association serves as the premier source of information and support for individuals, family members, and care partners living with dementia in the area while offering a broad range of programs and services at no cost.
Founded in 1874, Douglass Lodge No. 151 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 71 members and supports various community organizations and events, including supporting the Douglass Boy Scouts for over 50 years, making financial contributions to the local clergy, helping families in need during Thanksgiving, and helping local teachers purchase clothes for students in need.
“Our lodge defines doing charitable work as work that helps young, elderly, and less fortunate people in the surrounding community,” said Douglass Lodge No. 151 Secretary Carl McGinnis.
To further their mission of helping local individuals in the community, the Brothers at Douglass Lodge No. 151 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $100 to the Central and Western Kansas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The funds donated will go toward helping individuals and family members deal with the effects of Alzheimer’s. The Central and Western Kansas Chapter offers a broad range of programs and services, including a 24-hour Helpline at no cost to families. They also fund advancements in research to prevent, treat and ultimately conquer Alzheimer’s with volunteers that advocate for the needs and rights of people with dementia.
