Lebo, Kansas (July 19, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Lebo Lodge No. 152 to donate $300 to the Lebo Baptist Church, an organization dedicated to outreach within the local community that provides a space for all individuals to feel comfortable.
Founded in 1888, Lebo Lodge No. 152 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 37 members and is very active in the community, including sponsoring senior ads for high school graduates in the Emporia Gazette, sending local band students to the Kansas Shrine Bowl, donating to local Lebo and Hartford food pantries, donating to the Lebo Senior Center, and collecting toys, personal hygiene items, and monetary donations for families in need. The lodge has also provided candy for pre-school and elementary school Halloween parades and helped bring the 4-H Western Heritage Project National Championships to the state of Kansas this year.
“The Lebo Baptist Church has numerous areas of outreach, including running a community food pantry, providing sack lunches for local school trips, and delivering food boxes for 15-20 families each year,” said Lebo Lodge No. 152 Secretary Steve Zumbrunn. “The church has also been providing school supplies to local elementary school students for the past 20 years.”
Continuing with their support of the local community, the Brothers at Lebo Lodge No. 152 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $300 to the Lebo Baptist Church. The funds donated will help provide school supplies to local elementary students within the community. When the initiative first started 20 years ago, it was solely intended to assist needy families, but now with the help of outside community partners, the church is in pursuit of providing essential school supplies to every local child in elementary school to promote educational success. A formal donation announcement will take place before August 2 at the lodge or the Lebo Baptist Church office.
