Community DevelopmentEmporia Lodge No. 12 Donates $1,700 to the No Coast Film Fest
Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Film Fest Donation
Emporia, Kansas (July 19, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Emporia Lodge No. 12 to donate $1,700 to the No Coast Film Fest, an event committed to bringing together new and established filmmakers from all over the world to celebrate the short film genre.
Founded in 1864, Emporia Lodge No. 12 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 219 members and regularly makes charitable contributions to the local community, including awarding over $100,000 in scholarships to local area students, making a $30,000 contribution to the Emporia High School Marching Band to purchase new band and orchestra equipment, funding over 50 students’ trips to the Kansas Masonic All-State High School Marching Band Camp, purchasing a thermo-imaging camera for the Emporia Fire Department, and pledging $125,000 to the Kansas Masonic Foundation. Additionally, the Brothers at Emporia Lodge No.12 have donated to the Building Kansas Campaign to support literacy, cancer patients, veterans, and community PRIDE programs.
“Our lodge defines doing good charitable work by supporting local and Masonic charities through providing financial assistance to help reach organizational goals,” said Emporia Lodge No. 12 Secretary Dave Hendricks. “This year, we have decided to make a donation to the No Coast Film Fest to help reach their goal of promoting and supporting the short film genre by bringing together experienced and first-time filmmakers from Kansas and all over the world.”
To help further their mission of providing financial assistance to worthy organizations, the Brothers at Emporia Lodge No. 12 have partnered with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $1,700 to the No Coast Film Fest. The three-day event features local, national, and international independent films and works in conjunction with the Emporia Arts Council to bring the arts to Emporia. The funds donated will help cover expenses associated with the three-day film fest and help the organization achieve its fundraising goal, enabling them to qualify for a larger amount of matching funds from the Emporia Community Foundation. An official donation presentation previously took place on June 23, 2021.
