Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Community Library Donation

Linwood, Kansas (July 12, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Linwood Lodge No. 241 to donate $200 to the Linwood Community Library, an organization providing local community members with access to digital and printed works. The library is also dedicated to promoting literacy by offering free communal reading programs for adults and children of all ages.

Founded in 1885, Linwood Lodge No. 241 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nine members and is heavily involved in the local community, including making charitable contributions to assist others in need, specifically awarding college scholarships for graduating seniors at Basehor-Linwood High School and supporting the Linwood Community Library.

“We have previously made charitable contributions to the Linwood Community Library, awarding $200 in both 2018 and 2019,” said Linwood Lodge No. 241 Secretary Howard Jones. “We have been providing support to their organization for about five years in total.”

To help further their mission of helping individuals and organizations in need, the Brothers at Linwood Lodge No. 241 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $200 to the Linwood Community Library. The donation will help provide additional reading resources to local community members and help support various library programs such as the library’s summer reading program. The funds raised by the lodge, combined with matching funds from the Kansas Masonic Foundation, will be presented at the Linwood Community Library later this month.
