Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Fire Department Donation

Louisburg, Kansas (July 6, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Peace Lodge No. 243 to donate $225 to the Louisburg Fire Department, a largely volunteer-run fire department conducting an annual FIREUP Fire and Burn Prevention program to educate local children about fire safety.

Founded in 1902, Peace Lodge No. 243 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has nearly 100 members and supports numerous community events, including awarding local high school students with college scholarships, sponsoring local band students at the Kansas All-State High School Marching Band Camp, and beginning the local Blessings in a Backpack program. The lodge has also partnered with the KU Cancer Center to provide free cancer screenings to community members and participants.

“At Peace Lodge No. 243, we match our resources and abilities to the needs in our local community,” said Peace Lodge No. 243 Master Brandon Stecklein. “Our Brothers believe the Louisburg Fire Departments’ annual FIREUP Fire and Burn Prevention program is a great organization and will help prevent fire loss and death in the community.

Continuing with their mission of addressing the local community’s needs, the Brothers at Peace Lodge No. 243 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to donate $225 to the Louisburg Fire Department. The funds donated will help provide fire prevention and safety materials to 56 children between the ages of 3 and 12, carefully created by the National Fire Safety Council. The materials are distributed to children and adults within the community to promote safety and prevent fire-related injuries. A formal donation announcement will take place in the upcoming months, with all contributing parties recognized in the provided activity manuals.
