Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Justice Lodge With Law Enforcement Donation
Emporia, Kansas (June 8, 2020)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Justice Lodge No. 457 to donate $2,000 to the Law Enforcement Leadership Academy, an organization dedicated to providing high-quality leadership development, strengthening partnerships, and promoting professionalism throughout the law enforcement community in Kansas.
Founded in 2011, Justice Lodge No. 457 is an Affinity Lodge for current and retired Kansas law enforcement officers, judges, prosecuting attorneys, dispatchers, corrections officers, and those that deal with the criminal justice system. The lodge currently has 24 members that meet four to six times throughout the year at various locations across the state and supports different law enforcement-related causes. They have previously supported the University of Kansas Public Management Center (PMC), the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC), Kansas Concerns of Police Survivors (Kansas C.O.P.S), and the University of Kansas Continuing Education program. Aside from their support of these programs, the lodge also works together to support law enforcement agencies in Kansas with their professional education needs at the command and front-line supervisory levels through the Kansas Law Enforcement Leadership Academy (LELA).
“In today’s society, Justice Lodge No. 457 is proud to support up-and-coming law enforcement leaders that might not otherwise have the opportunity to grow their skill set,” said Justice Lodge No. 457 Secretary Daren Kellerman.
To further their mission of supporting local law enforcement leaders, the Brothers at Justice Lodge No. 457 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $2,000 to the Law Enforcement Leadership Academy (LELA) at the University of Kansas. The funds donated will financially assist officers otherwise unable to attend the Academy as a majority of law enforcement agencies in Kansas are small with limited budgets. An official donation announcement will take place later this year.
