Iola, Kansas (June 2, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefitting Kansas communities, has partnered with Iola Lodge No. 38 to donate $200 to the Iola High School Marching Band in Allen County to help purchase new instruments.
Founded in 1863, Iola Lodge No. 38 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has more than 90 members and supports various community organizations, including the community PRIDE Program, the local cardboard recycling program, and various youth sporting organizations. The lodge also supports the community food pantry by helping purchase food for individuals in need. This year will mark the lodge’s first donation to the Iola High School Marching Band to help benefit students in the local community.
“The Brothers at Iola Lodge No. 38 define doing good charitable work by helping others in need of monetary or physical products in which we can serve them, and have our Lodge visible to the community,” said Iola Lodge No. 38 Secretary Curtis Utley.
To further this mission of serving individuals within the local community, the Brothers at Iola Lodge No. 38 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $200 to the Iola High School Marching Band. The donation will help the local marching band purchase new instruments to replace current instruments that are in need of repair. The funds raised by the lodge, combined with matching funds from the Kansas Masonic Foundation, will be presented to the Iola High School Marching Band at an upcoming lodge meeting.
