Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With God’s Storehouse Donation

Perry, Kansas (May 4, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Perry Lodge No. 415 to donate $670 to God’s Storehouse Food Bank, a community food pantry distributing groceries to local Jefferson County individuals in need.

Founded in 1917, Perry Lodge No. 415 is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has 84 members and supports various local causes, including hosting a pancake feed for the Perry Fall Festival, participating in Perry Pride, an organization dedicated to making local communities better places to live, and supporting the Kansas Masonic Essay Contest, and the Exemplary Teacher and Student Awards program. In addition to these charitable organizations, Perry Lodge No. 415 has many members active in the local volunteer fire department and consistently donates to God’s Storehouse Food Bank.

“Each year, for the past 20 years, our lodge has donated to God’s Storehouse, with amounts varying between $300 and $400,” said Perry Lodge No. 415 Secretary Gerald Collie. “They are a local Jefferson County food bank that relies mostly on student volunteers for distribution purposes.”

Continuing with their support of the local community, the Brothers at Perry Lodge No. 415 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $670 to God’s Storehouse Food Bank in Jefferson County. The funds will be used to purchase items from Harvester Foods at reduced prices to help supply food categories that lack an abundance of donations, such as foods with considerable protein sources. The official donation will be presented to God’s Storehouse at their building in Meriden later this year.
