Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge with DeMolay Chapter Donation

Wichita, Kansas (April 13, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Sunflower Lodge No. 86 to donate to the Excalibur Chapter of DeMolay Kansas, a Masonic youth-led organization dedicated to making young men future leaders while building on timeless principles and practical experience.

Founded in 1898, Sunflower Lodge No. 86 has over 150 members dedicated to philanthropy within the community. This Kansas Masonic Lodge is heavily involved in community service and supports various local causes, including sponsoring the local DeMolay Chapter and other youth programs in the Wichita area and hosting fundraising events to benefit organizations throughout the community. The lodge has consistently donated to the DeMolay fraternal organization since 1999 and continues to support its efforts of providing young men with quality guidance and mentorship.

“We have sponsored our DeMolay Chapter every year since 1999,” said Sunflower Lodge No. 86 Secretary Don Kabler. “This year’s donation will help offset the cost of building the Excalibur Chapter and provide adequate training.”

Continuing with their support of the local DeMolay program, the Brothers at Sunflower Lodge No. 86 have teamed up with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to provide a monetary donation of $1,000 to the Excalibur Chapter. DeMolay Chapters are dedicated to teaching young men to plan, organize, and facilitate their own programs and provide fun activities guided by members’ interests. The funds will be used to provide training, cover building costs associated with the new Chapter, and host state events and will be presented at a meeting on May 11, 2021.
