Kansas Masonic Foundation Supports Local Kansas Masonic Lodge With Passageways Fundraiser

Wichita, KS (February 15, 2021)—The Kansas Masonic Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting Kansas communities, has partnered with Albert Pike Lodge No. 303 to donate $25,000 to Passageways, a Wichita faith-based organization providing housing and support services to local homeless veterans.

Founded in 1895, Albert Pike Lodge No. 303 in Wichita is a Kansas Masonic lodge dedicated to Freemasonry, the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world. The lodge has more than 600 members and supports numerous local charities including, The Arc of Sedgwick County, Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Fundamental Learning Center, and the Kansas Infant Death & SIDS (KIDS) Network, Inc. The lodge has previously donated to the Passageways organization and continues to support its mission of providing temporary housing to military veterans.

“We define charitable work by fundraising for local charities that have trouble fundraising for themselves,” said Lodge Master Chris Collins. “We have people who are willing to donate their own time to do charitable work for our community.”

This past January, the dedicated individuals at Albert Pike Lodge No. 303 teamed up with “Big Al” of Davis-Moore Chevrolet and Davis-Moore Auto Group to raise money for Passageways by selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a 1959 Chevrolet El Camino. The Bomb BBQ food truck also partnered with the lodge to give away 300 free meals during the two-day Don Hall Legacy event. All of the funds raised, combined with matching funds from the Kansas Masonic Foundation, will be donated to Passageways to help purchase an additional house for local homeless female veterans.
